Stoneybatter’s own art/music space The Joinery have two events in their calendar this week.
This Thursday, February 28th, the space plays host to two cassette launches for Fallow Records; Be Honest ‘s ‘Tea, Sugar, Soda, Soap’ and JG/BC ‘s ‘Samekh.’ In support of the two acts will be experimental wood wind player Sean Mac Erlaine. Admission is €10 on the door with a choice of one of the newly released cassettes.
The Joinery’s regular and themed folk club Blackletters and Ballads follows on Friday the 1st. The theme for this week’s event is Thieves and Bandits. Admission again is €10.
As a side note, The Joinery themselves are in the middle of a Fund.It project to help keep their events going and strive towards becoming a self-sufficient independent art space. At present, they have raised over €5,000 on their way to their €16,000 goal.
