The Strypes got what felt like their millionth thumbs up from a celebrity fan when Elton John and Dave Grohl discussed Cavan’s finest last week. We’re beginning to lose track. So like an adoring Irish Mammy we’re compiling all their best bits in one handy scrapbook.
The praise comes far and wide and the highlight came very recently on Dave Grohl talk show, when during a talk with Elton John, they discussed Elton’s support for upcoming bands and how he signed this Cavan based band (forgive his geography, thinking it’s an hour SOUTH of Dublin) called The Strypes.
It’s a fairy tale story for the rise of a band who haven’t ever released their debut album yet and even Dave Grohl thinks they are shit hot. They are over in Maida Vale doing a session for Radio 6 right now even as we speak.
