The Northern Irish Music Awards which has received a lot of flack online recently for multiple reasons from bands and Northern Irish music fans alike which mostly seems to circulate around the concept that calling themselves the Northern Irish music awards means they speak for all in Northern Ireland and some feel that the people involved are selective in their coverage.
It’s not the greatest press for them prior to the event for what knowing some of the people involved their heart is definitely in the right place. Personally we believe it’s a great thing to have for Northern Irish music considering the amazing health it finds itself in lately. Perhaps the name is more encompassing than some would like but I doubt after the awards we’ll be saying anyone took an award undeservingly.

The event is in Ulster Hall in Belfast on November 2nd and doors are at 7pm with tickets costing £12.
