Hailing from the towns of Todmorden and Burnley in England’s industrial north but making their name in the Manchester scene – The Goa Express make hazy garage rock with a twist of psychedelia often covering lyrical themes of the intensity of teenage friendship over jangly, 80s inspired guitar riffs.

On Second Time vocalist James Douglas Clarke sings about the repetitive nature of days spent hanging around with nothing to do as a young person still finding their purpose. The track is accompanied by a Mairead O’Connor directed video showing the band aimlessly cycling around their home towns.

“Second Time is a song about young people making the same mistakes over and over and over again; a warming ballad which breaks aside from our live performances, foolishly thinking, that it’s able to mend itself,” says the band of the track.

The band will be performing in Dublin as part of the Eastbound Festival on 25 September 2021 with local post-punk up and comers Odd Morris.
