An award titled to befit the band, The Divine Comedy are indeed legends and on November 14th will become the 7th recipient of the Oh Yeah Legend Award with an award ceremony/presentation and performance at Mandela Hall, Belfast on November 14th.

An iconic back catalogue and and a brilliant live show mean if you haven’t seen them live yet, there is no better time than now.

The Divine Comedy have delivered so many stunning songs and Neil Hannon writes with wit, emotion and intelligence. He continues to bring distinction to Northern Ireland and we’re so pleased that he has agreed to accept his Legend Award and to perform at the occasion.

When asked on the topic of the award, Hannon said “I am amazed and humbled to be receiving this honour. There is nothing more gratifying than recognition from your homeland, and I’m very much looking forward to playing some songs and seeing some familiar faces at the Mandela Hall on Nov 14th.

The Divine Comedy join the elite previous winner list of Therapy? (2014), Gary Moore (posthumous) (2012), Stiff Little Fingers (2011), The Undertones (2010), Henry McCullough (2009) and Terri Hooley (2008).

The Oh Yeah Legend presentation will be preceded by another award, the NI Music Prize, which will celebrate the very best of Northern Irish albums. This will be decided by an academy of local media and industry professionals following live performances by several shortlisted acts at the Mandela Hall. Previous NI Music Prize winners are Robyn G Shiels for ‘The Blood of the Innocents’ (2014) and Foy Vance ‘Joy Of Nothing’ (2013).
