One of Ireland’s most underrated bands, The Cujo Family announced their split on their social media portals yesterday, with the following statement.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we, The Cujo Family, announce our retirement. It is an emotional decision and one we don’t make lightly, but the world keeps turning and we feel we can no longer offer the adequate amount of commitment needed to showcase our tunes properly. The last eight years have been a trip, and we would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts, anyone who ever gave us a gig. To everyone who listened to, championed, bought, shared or stole our music. To all and sundry who raised countless roofs across the land and then some. Words could never quantify how much you mean to the four of us, you who gave us Dionysian moments of Omnipotence which we will never forget. We are your band, our music is your music, in that way it is never really over. In the words of the immortal Chuck D – “Love, Live Life, Like you just don’t Care” Cujos Out. X

GoldenPlec premiered what would turn out to be the band’s final album ‘Pigs In The Pen’ last October, and we are proud to have played a small part in the story of one of our favourite Irish acts. But, don’t take our word for it, check the album out for yourself below.

‘Pigs in the Pen’ is an accomplished entry in the band’s canon, the culmination of a decade’s detailing of drinking, debauchery, and damnation. Melodies flow like the alcohol that saturates their songs, but when this band is leading you along the dark path to redemption, it’s with a knowing wink and a wry tale for the journey. You won’t regret joining them…
