Sunstroke is the latest Irish festival to fall victim to Coronavirus. The heavy rock festival was set to make its return to the Irish festival season after twenty years in hiatus and was a welcome addition to the Irish festival season with heavy rock fans overlooked for so long by the major Irish promoters.

It is an especially sad announcement for the host of up-and-coming Irish rock bands such as Bitch Falcon, Fangclub and Thumper who struggle to find a home on Irish radio. However, festival organisers MCD do indicate that they intend to proceed with the festival in the future.
