Limerick rapper Strange Boy has turned heads in the past year for his magnetic trad-rap performance at Ireland Music Week and for The Pope a track accompanied by a semi-viral video which cleverly re-contextualises papal excess as hip-hop braggadocio. The idiosyncratic MC also landed a spot on God Knows’ beloved posse cut Who’s Asking?
Stange Boy is set to capitalise on the momentum he’s built recently with his freshly announced debut album ‘HOLY / UNHOLY’ set for release this summer.
The album’s lead single Waiting is a more melancholic offering than the brash confidence of Strange Boy’s debut – once again combining traditional Irish instrumentation from producer Enda Gallery with the proficient accented rhymes of Strange Boy.

“I’ve lots of memories of growing up in Limerick, good and bad. ‘With Waiting’ I wanted to put into perspective how my hometown shaped my personality,” says Strange Boy of the track.
“It breaks my heart open to hear it. Every time. I feel like we are witnessing one of the all-time greats,” adds producer Enda Gallery.
