We mentioned before how to enter this nice competition for up and coming Irish bands and the submissions are over and the shortlist has just been announced. 98FM received a HUGE number of entries from every nook of the country and those submissions have been whittled down to five bands.
The winning band will be announced this coming Sunday 22nd April and if you want to listen to the bands and vote for them, then your next stop is to the 98FM voting page. The five finalists will become one on Sunday where the winning bands will receive two days recording time in Windmill Lane Studios, a support slot in The Workmans to some top names in Irish music on Thursday 26th April and their song playlisted on 98FM.
The shortlisted bands include Tiny Telephone Exchange, Les Marionettes, Morgan La Faye, The Yips and Ken Mchughs new project I’m Your Vinyl.

The standard of Irish music in 2012 is, according to many critics, at its highest ever. A music scene to be proud of has quickly emerged over the last few years with each year producing more and more great new acts. We here on Totally Irish and 98FM hope to have potentially discovered one of Ireland’s greatest bands.”
