Irish led, Essex-based quartet She’s In Parties have shared new single ‘The Times’, the third glance into their upcoming EP, ‘Puppet Show’, ( 25th October via Submarine Cat Records) which finds the band working with legendary producer Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur, The Cranberries).

“This song is about my internal battle with this new era of social media we live in,” explains Katie Dillon (vocals/guitar). “The lyrics “rewrite your mind” pretty much just mean that I need to rethink what I thought being a musician was like, and get with “the times”. If I don’t do it, somebody else will.”

“One voice tells me they can “take it all away” if we don’t use social media to try and make it as a band. Another voice tells me to “rewrite” my mind, so maybe it’s not so bad to use this new tool of promotion.”

The track is accompanied by a Polocho directed video sure to tug on your heartstrings.

The group, led by Irish singer Katie Dillon will be hoping to build upon a stellar 2023 which saw them play to packed out rooms alongside Bleach Lab, DEADLETTER, Panic Shack and Hockey Dad, with ‘Puppet Show’ which finds the group exploring political themes like never before.

“It’s a timeless topic, people have always and will always sing about injustices, often though, people want an escape and sing about things like love because sometimes that’s easier than telling the truth.” Katie says, “I’m certainly not a political person and would opt for escapism in music, but sometimes there are things that happen in our society or on social media that you just can’t avoid. They’ve been plaguing my mind especially, so I’ve been writing about this stuff a lot more and it has now become a prevalent theme in this next EP.”

‘Puppet Show’, follows on from last year’s debut EP ‘End Scene’, which garnered the attention of major UK stations such as BBC1, BBC6 and X Radio, while single ‘Summer Haze’ went on to soundtrack both Match Of The Day & FIFA Women’s World Cup.

There’s no sign of any Irish dates yet, but She’s In Parties have announced a UK tour to coincide with the EP’s release. Pre-order/Save Puppet Show here
