Every year the Beamish Cork Folk Festival attempts to better the previous years lineup and this year they are delighted to announce that Shane Macgowan and Sharon Shannon will be headlining their Folk Festival in 2010.

Shannon herself has had an unbelievable career with several number one albums, singles, dvd’s, two meteor awards and a lifetime achievement award (youngest ever to receive that award). Macgowan needs no introduction, If you don’t know this Irish legend you most likely won’t be heading to this fun night of top music.

These two Irish icon’s will be gracing The Savoy, Friday October 1st 2010. Tickets are €35 + booking fee.

As always revellers will be treated to the best fiddle, Accordion, pipes and flute music in Ireland across several premium venues in Cork and will top it off with a Céilí Mór in Grand Parade. Other acts announced for the event include : Imagined Village, Eddie Reader, Beoga, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Niwel Tsumbu, Kilfenora Céilí Band and still more to come.

The Beamish Cork Folk Festival takes place September 29th to 3rd October in venues throughout Cork city.
