Scattered Ashes have today released their new single Homeowners. The single, which received its radio premiere yesterday with Steve Lamacq on BBC 6, was recorded and mixed by Daniel Fox (Gilla Band).

The Dublin-based quartet first emerged in November 2020 with the release of their debut single Love Is Not An Option. Since then, the band have been bringing their angular, urgent guitars to the masses, opening for the likes of of Sprints and THUMPER, while their ‘Parallel Lines’ EP sold out in Rough Trade stores throughout the UK.

Following singles Battles, Feral and This New Will, Homeowners is described by singer Rob Dalton as dealing with the concept of “right person, wrong time”.

“An unspoken romance between two people destined to ponder what could have been. Fate dealt a different hand, two individuals who are inextricably connected are now passing ships in the night. Tied up in the trappings of adulthood and family life they simply have too much to lose to ever act: ‘It doesn’t matter now we’re homeowners'”

The track, the band’s most vulnerable to date, with its bounding rhythm, yearning vocals and ethereal guitar melodies, is no doubt bound to replicate the critical acclaim of Feral.

In support of the new single, the band will play new dates across Ireland and the UK, including a headline show at The Workman’s Cellar on 11th November. Tickets are available here.
