It’s been confirmed today that after a wide search for a replacement for 2FM’s tragically lost DJ Gerry Ryan in the flagship 9am – 11am slot for the station, will now be filled by Ryan Tubridy.

Ray Darcy was approached for the slot but turned it down opting to stay at Today FM. Tubridy was quoted saying that it was an honour to sit in the chair he sat in for so long. To be fair to 2FM, choices to replace Gerry Ryan were pretty limited and in Ryan Tubridy they have an established Radio and TV personality that is largely well liked and will work hard to keep Gerry’s listeners who kept faithfully with him till his untimely demise.

hopefully Ryan can do just that.
