Us folk around here in the GP know a good idea when we hear one. So when we heard news of a special birthday bash type gig happening in Whelans tomorrow night, very much like our own ‘My Birthday, Your Presents‘ extravaganza, we just had to shout it out loud.
Rocher is not going bowling or Funderland with his mates for his birthday, but instead, calling in a few mates to perform in Whelans (Upstairs) on Friday 24th of January. His band of merry support stars include Kicking Bird, GP sultan of swing favourite Conor Linnie and The Stoney Brokes. Tickets cost €5 on the door and make sure to get down nice and early to catch the impressive support line-up.
If you don’t know about Rocher, then why not take a listen to this Seven Hours EP here. We reviewed it back in the day and we had this to say about it: “Seven Hours’ is a small stroll through a Mediterranean village, a sassy siesta with an overlying sophistication to the festival-like samba. If indie-flamenco is not already a genre, this is a good place to lay the foundations.” (read the review here)
