Jeremy Hickey aka RSAG is currently on tour promoting his current album “Be it Right or Wrong” which seen the solo drummer stop off at The Academy for a headline show. With a jam packed audience RSAG arrived on stage positioning himself comfortably in front of his drum kit as he banged straight into “Moving Image” then “Counting Down”. As the crowd moved closer to the stage the visuals behind Hickey showed us a virtual band with the man himself playing all instruments from guitar to the bongo.

There was no time to take a breather as RSAGs song “Movement” from RTE’s The Raw Sessions played out for us with the crowd singing along nicely. As the background visuals were in accordance to what he was performing it gave the Kilkenny man no time to make mistakes and luckily for us he was spot on every time as he belted out the title track from his album “Be it Right or Wrong” amongst others. With a non stop set of tunes from his debut album such as “The Climb” to his current single “The Roamer”, Hickey was in full force and with a powerful singing voice reaching out to us all.

The multi instrumentalist that is RSAG did not disappoint on the night and its easy to see how he has such a big following throughout the country after only releasing two albums in total. The jam packed show came to an end with Hickey performing drum solos with the use of a beer keg to make a sweet sound while he performed “Hotwire the Heart” before sending us home happy and highly entertained.
