After a number of  epic energetic  live shows resulting in them being asked to support Snow Patrol on the Belfast and London legs of their ‘Fallen Empires’ tour, A Plastic Rose have built quite a name for themselves in recent months. With a debut album on the horizon, they recently released the first single, from what promises to be one of the most exciting albums to come out of the Northern Irish music scene in quite some time

‘Build From the Ground Up’ starts off with smooth, slow strings before quickly building into the pulsating  alternative rock sound that A Plastic Rose have become synonymous with over the last few years. Intense vocals, reminiscent of Jared Leto in parts, come from Gerry Norman and are backed by soaring guitar riffs. The lyrics are powerful and pertinent to the current economic crisis around the globe as Norman roars “Salvage what we can and build from the ground up again”. All of the above ingredients insure that this track is a surefire recipe for unassailable success.

A Plastic Rose took the unusual step to not release ‘Build From the Ground Up’ as a downloadable track and instead made it a physical copy only single. This may prove to be detrimental to the success of the single itself, but the radio airplay it deserves to receive, will undoubtedly garner a new set of fans prior to the release of their debut album, ‘Camera.Shutter.Life’, which is due for release in September 2012.
