Red Bull Bedroom Jam is on a mission to unearth explosive talent that has been jamming away
behind poster clad bedroom doors until this point. This online battle of the bands provides a
phenomenal platform within which up-and-coming Irish talent can raise their profile and further
their careers within a notoriously competitive industry. In short, Red Bull Bedroom Jam wants to
help young Irish bands to expand their “wings”.
That’s the blurb about what this bad boy is, It’s a platform for young bands to get their name out there and show the world what they’ve got. Members must be 17 or over and at least one member under 26 years of age. The opportunity at hand is for Irish bands to potentially win slots at huge music festivals and record in the Red Bull studio with a top producer.
You can upload a video to the website www.redbullbedroomjam.ie and from February 27th there will be a bi-weekly Bedroom Jam buzz chart. The buzz chart shows how popular your video has been in terms of social media activity, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook mentions and views all count in the chart.
The chart will decide the “Who” and six bands will be filmed live from the comfort of their own homes while potential fans watch online. Three of these bands will be chosen to play are the biggest Irish music festival in 2012 and one band will be crowned as winner at a live final in the autumn and they will head into studio.
What is great this year is that the Bedroom Jam has focused this year, last year it was anyone in the UK and Ireland and only one Irish act got seen. This year it will be six Irish bands as it’s focused on the Irish market (no doubt there will be a parallel one ran in the UK).
So upload to the www.redbullbedroomjam.ie website, get yourself arms and get all your links prepared for sharing. views and votes on the video on that site count, Tweet, Facebook shares, Myspace links all count. It’s real time and will be pretty interesting to see how it evolves.
