paulo angeliA series of shows paying homage to some of the most talented improvisational guitarist has been confirmed for Dublin with a showcase taking place each month for the next four months.

Lined up are shows including Paulo Angeli on February 27th in St Audeon’s Church. Paulo elaborates, improvises and composes unclassifiable music suspended between free jazz, folk noise and minimal pop. Next up is Marc Ribot from New York, who will play his solo Americana style music in The Sugar club on March 13th.

Lionel Loueke is the man for April, who played with Herbie Hancock on his last Irish visit. He will bring African culture and jazz through his solo show and will play The Workman’s Club on April 21st 2013. The Progressions seasons draws to a close with Stian Westerhus who will play in the grungey confines of Twisted Pepper.

Tickets are €15 for the shows or a season pass is €40 for all four shows.
