Yes Yes we know this isn’t specifically music, but you can’t really dance without music and occasionally we do deviate from the norm over here at GP.
However we thought it prudent to throw some backing to the fact that two Irish dance groups have beaten off stiff competition and made it to the semi finals of the Got To Dance competition. The acts who made it through are tremendous Irish dancing, Riverdance dragged modern act Prodijig and the young street group of Lil Hustlers.
Alan Kenefick (27), choreographer and lead dancer with Prodijig said
“We are over the moon to have reached the semi-final of such an amazing show considering the level of talent this year. The response so far has been unbelievable and we are spending hours in the studio to make sure that our next performance is even better”.
Amy Delaney (13) of Lil Hustlers, comments
“After watching all the auditions shows and seeing how many amazing dance acts there were, we feel so lucky to have been chosen for the semi-finals. We hope we can make everyone in Ireland proud. We’re working really hard to show everyone across the UK that Ireland is going hard this year!”
Each of the five semi-final shows will be filmed live at Pinewood Studios in London from Sunday 29th January to Sunday 26th February. Each week six acts will perform, two of whom will go forward to the live final on Sunday 4th March at London’s Olympia. Viewers will be able to vote for their favourite act, and are advised to stay tuned to GOT TO DANCE for further details on how to do so.
