Pennsylvania songwriter Petal aka Kiley Lotz is bringing her critically acclaimed sophomore album ‘Magic Gone’ to Whelan’s for an intimate show tomorrow. ‘Magic Gone’ charts Lotz’s recent voyage of personal discovery which saw her come out to herself and then to the public. The album is split into two halves with ‘Tightrope Walker’ depicting the internal struggle and ‘Miracle Clinger’ the aftermath.
“This is the first record where I could really, very openly write about coming out, as opposed to before where I hadn’t really even approached the subject with myself, let alone with other people.” she told Billboard in a recent interview following the release of the album.
Petal will be joined by Limerick songstress Elaine Malone, who’s described by 2FM’s Dan Hegarty as beings “quite something – what exactly? Striking, stunning and heartfelt are three words that go some way to encapsulating it.“ Check out her debut single You below.
