Peace at Whelan’s, Friday 20th

Upbeat and bubbly indie rockers Peace visit Whelan’s this Friday in support of their new album ‘Happy People.’ This chirpy record is as uplifting as its name might suggest, and with an excellent debut in the form of ‘In Love’ to also pluck tunes from, a fun evening packed with exciting and energetic tracks should be in order here. The band have established a reputation as a fine live act, and now with two assured albums to their name, the group is beginning to emerge as one of the best indie bands around.

There’s also a support slot for Wyvern Lingo, so pop down early to this one for some great Irish acts.

Achieving their greatest level of success during the early 00’s, Idlewild have had an eclectic career, veering from heavy punk based sounds to more folk-y, melodic offerings. While the band’s recorded output has been hit and miss on occasion, the group’s quality live performances have always remained a constant.
