Huw Stephens, BBC Radio 1 DJ, and Aiden Gillen, actor of a thousand accents, will once again be joining a motley crew of musically talented folks – Irish and otherwise – crammed into a wee church out in Dingle to bring us another three episodes of Other Voices, kicking off on Friday the 14th.
Delivering up some folksy loveliness will be acoustic crooners The Lost Brothers and Scottish serenader King Creosote, while on the weirder end of things there’s the minimalist sound of relative unknown Somerville and the brassy, jazzy, hip-hop infused madness of Kormac’s big band – and that’s only this week.
Over the following two episodes performers including Wild Beasts, Melanie De Biasio, Wyvern Lingo, Young Fathers, and August Wells will be populating RTÉ2’s choice 11:30pm slot. You can check out performances from the previous half of the season (as well as an interview with Hozier about cheese sandwiches, apparently) here.
