It’s nearly December, it’s definitely bitter, which means Other Voices is back in the lovely surroundings of St. James Church in Dingle on Saturday 1st, Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd of December.
The IMRO Other Room closed recording session will take place Friday November 30th, but that won’t concern most. What is concerning is the lineup which this year includes Aaron Dessner (The National), Kodaline, Local Natives, Luluc, Owen Pallet, Palma Violets, Paul Buchanan, SOAK, The Staves, The Strypes, The Unthanks, This Is The Kit and Villagers.
Day to Day lineup will be revealed soon. The IMRO Other Room artists, as well as the Other Voices Viewer’s Choice nominees, will be announced shortly. The Sunday 2nd December will see RTE Two broadcast live from St. James Church so that more than the few in the Church can see the special occurances. The broadcast will run between 7pm and 9pm and already locked in are Villagers and Paul Buchanan, with more to be announced.
InTune networks will once again provide streaming direct into pubs like Benners, Foxy John’s and McCarthy’s. Other Voices fans will also enjoy the Music Trail, a series of free music events which take place in the fine establishments of Dingle on Saturday and Sunday. This year’s Other Voices Music Trail will feature artists performing at the Church and the IMRO Other Room, as well as many Irish acts including Daithi O’Dronai, Toy Soldier, Neon Wolf, Mick Heslin and In The Willows. Some special guests may even show up at random locations.
Don’t forget that Other Voices is going mobile in February with Glassworks in Derry on February 8th, 9th and 10th. Already announced for the Derry-Londonderry leg of the three part musical journey are Marina and The Diamonds, Django Django, Neil Hannon and Jesca Hoop. In April it goes even further will a trip to London with artists yet to be announced.
This year, Other Voices has partnered with Deezer UK & Ireland for digital streaming, radio channels and much more. Selected content from the 2012/2013 Other Voices events as well as plenty of Other Voices audio from across the years will be exclusively available on Deezer. The streaming site will also offer an Other Voices radio channel which will feature artists appearing at each of the three events in Dingle, Derry-Londonderry and London. See www.deezer.com for more details.
A number of tickets for St. James’ Church will be made available through competitions on Other Voices social media (Twitter: @OtherVoicesLive & Facebook: ‘Other Voices’) as well as on national radio shows. Please see Other Voices website for more details: www.othervoices.ie
