Following up on January’s More Like You, Dublin singer-songwriter Orla Gartland returns with Zombie! – a fast-paced takedown of the male tendency toward emotional repression.
The zombie in question refers to the subject of the track, a man who has never learned to healthily express emotion and resorts to anger as his default mode.
Musically, Zombie! is built around a vibrant mix of handclap percussion, emphatic acoustic guitar strums and a chorus that bursts forth with energetic distorted guitars and thundering drums – the track is co-produced by Orla alongside former Vaccines drummer and current beabadobee producer Pete Robertson.
