Oliver Cole has shared details surrounding the release of his fourth solo album ‘Wingspan’ (Out October 3rd 2025). The ex-Turn frontman will preview the album with the release of its title track on August 22nd

The Kells native describes the follow-up to 2020’s acclaimed ‘Father, Brother, Son’ as less direct than his other albums, with more of a stream of consciousness approach.

‘The songs are more like faded photographs, vignettes viewed through foggy windows,” says Cole. “There is meaning and truth there but it must be deciphered and interpreted by the listener”

‘Wingspan’ were recorded in Cole’s back garden studio, The Cole Shed, with a cast of illustrious collaborators Gav Fox (Turn, Idlewild, Sack), Graham Hopkins (The Frames, Glen Hansard, Therapy), Jason Oglesby, and Leila Keeney.

The announcement of ‘Wingspan’ comes in the wake of the tenth anniversary of Cole’s second solo album Year of the Bird which featured the excellent single ‘Ah Ooh Ooh’
