So we’ve been at Oxegen this weekend indulging in all things musical and soaking up the full festival experience and trying to report on everything down there. With us down there it meant things got missed up here. So i guess this news post is our slightly lazy, zombie eyed recount of news that came out whilst we were off having a bit of fun. So lets just do a quick recap to bring us back up to speed

Indiependence a mere 3 weeks away. With such close proximity, its grown its lineup with some great additions that include GP favorites Ham Sandwich, Planet Parade, Oliver Cole as well as Futures Apart, Miss Motif, Yachtrock DJ Crew and Scimon Tist. There will be a 5 a side football tournament, zorb balls, art installations and one of our favourite festival things, The Silent Disco. Tickets are €59 (no camp) and €79 (with camping) from www.tickets.ie

The Temple Bar Summer Sensational took place this weekend just gone and it was a roaring success. So much to do and see it truly brought a massively needed slice of culture back to Dublin city centre and led the way in showing how easily great things can be done for family and fun events. The rain attempted to hamper events just like Oxegen but from what we hear it didn’t stop anyone having lots of fun.

General Fiasco, who played Oxegen at the weekend are nominated for “Best British Newcomer” at the Kerrang Awards. If you would like to show some support just visit the Kerrang Website to vote.

Robert Plant and The Band Of Joy will play a rare live show at the Olympia Theatre, Dublin on November 1st. Tickets from €55

Sweet Savage have been announced as the support for Iron Maiden who play The O2 on July 31st.

JOHN, SHELLY & THE CREATURES are set to release new single: ‘FOOLS’ + bonus track ‘THE FIRST MOVE’ on August 13th and will be live instore in Tower Records (Dublin) at 1pm that same day.

Susie Soho are back in studio laying down tracks for the next album just two week after the release of their debut album. They have made the raw tracks from their sessions available on Boards.ie for music types to experienment with Mixing and see what they can come up with. see what happens here: http://bit.ly/8Zamab.

Finally Ladydoll will support O Emperor in the Roisin Dubh next week

I think thats about it,
