The Man Whom, or Ian Doyle, depending on when you catch him, is Cork bound to finish 2012 on a high.

He’s had a busy year touring with VerseChorusVerse, supporting Royal Wood, Sharon Shannon, Vantastival, Glasgowbury, Spirit Of Folk, The John Martyn Tribute festival and more. He will now play a final show this year, in Cork before tucking himself away in early 2013 to start work on a new album.

The gig will be in Coughlan’s Live in Cork on Thursday 13th December. Tickets are €10 and are on sale now.

Alliance Promotions & Fifa Rec Present

A gig in Cork again, this time a little soon as it will take place on Saturday November 24th.

Featuring in this one are Hope is Noise, September Girls, We The People & The Vincent, with compere Wasps V’s Humans. It’s a gig taking in acts from all over with Cork, Dublin and Waterford all represented.

Doors will be at 9pm on the night and admission is just €5.

Action Bronson

Queen’s bred Albanian rhyme king Action Bronson returns to Dublin after a much talked about hip-hop showpiece in The Twisted Pepper back in March. He’s since signed a major deal with Vice and has a new album in the pipelines for next year.

Bodytonic have nailed him down for another headline show on Tuesday 18th December in The Twisted Pepper. Support on the night is from Workin’ class Records gang – Lethal Dialect and GI & Costello – so expect a cracking show.

Once: The Musical

Ever wanted to star in an award winning musical? Well now is your chance to get a part in Once , which will be holding open audition on Saturday 24th November.

ONCE, winner of eight 2012 Tony awards on Broadway including Best New Musical will have its European Premiere at The Gaiety Theatre in Dublin February 2013 followed by a London run at The Phoenix Theatre and the producers are auditioning for actor/musicians!

On Saturday 24th November, the creative team of Once will be at Whelans, 25 Wexford Street, Dublin holding open auditions for their award-winning musical! A cast of twelve will be required to rehearse in London from 21st January 2013. They need eight males and four females between 20 and 50, who have the ability to move well and speak in an Irish or Eastern European accent. All participants must have the ability to sing and play one of the following instruments to a high standard – piano, guitar, violin, fiddle, accordion, cello, ukele, mandolin, percussion, bass guitar.

So bring yourself, your instrument, a photograph and a CV to Whelans on Saturday 24th November at 9.30am. Everyone will be seen in order which they arrive, registration closes at 12 noon and all auditions must finish by 5pm at latest.
