SHONEN KNIFE

All female Japanese pop punk three piece Shonen Knife will be down in Whelans this Saturday 13th October. These girls are meant to be a crazy quirky off the wall live experience and if we weren’t finalist for the blog awards we would be down checking them out.

If you need entertainment on Saturday evening, go check out Shonen Knife. Tickets are €15 inclusive of booking fee and are available from Whelanslive.com with doors at 8pm.

WINDINGS

Out On A Limb Records have some more great music for us this month. This time around it’s Windings with their new record ‘I Am Not The Crow’. We streamed ‘This Is a Conversation’ last week and we can tell you now that they have some tour dates down for around Ireland.

Kilkenny, Coleraine, Galway, Clonakilty, Dublin and Limerick are all on the hitlist. Full dates below. We’ll keep you aprised of the album when we know about the exact dates.

THREAD PULLS

Thread Pulls have pulled some strings and put together a new 12″ record ‘you Melt Words \ 5/8 Rhythm Here’ and it is due to be released on October 19th 2012. Yes thats next week.

They will be launched the record on October 19th with a gig in The Joinery that night. Launching with them will be Yximalloo & Withering Zithering. The cost of admission is €8 on the door and it’s a BYOB event. The 12″ vinyl ( with download) is a limited pressing of 100 with special packaging including unlabelled vinyl, stamped sleeve and two glossy photographic prints.

PANAMA

Dublin rockers PANAMA have today announced their debut headline show for midway through next month.

PANANA who got to perform alongside Mumford & Sons at Arthurs Day will be taking their live show to The Workman’s Club on Thursday 15th November 2012. They have been working hard in the studio to put together a first release.

Tickets for the show are €6 inclusive of booking fee and are available from entertainment.ie/tickets. Tickets are on sale NOW. In June they filmed an acoustic live show in front of an intimate audience which will be broadcast later in the year.

A very special NightHawks at the end of the month as part of the Beatyard Weekender is on the cards.

Sunday 28th October in Twisted Pepper will see a lineup including Sweet Jane, Foil Arms & Hog, The Ambience Affairs and Kevin McGahern all playing on the night. Tickets for the show are €12 or €10 for members and can be bought online from bodytonicmusic  and Ticketmaster.ie

Prizes for “Best Fancy Dress Costume” will be given out on the night and the show is from 8.30pm till 11pm. After 11 you can stick around the pep-pep for some sets from Apparat and Krystal Klear. FREE.
