Following on from last week’s Ruby Session at Home with Soda Blonde and Lyra the Dublin institution continues tonight with performances from US alt country rocker Nathaniel Rateliff and contemporary Americana artist Ashley Campbell.

To date The Ruby Sessions At Home has raised €10,000 for The Dublin Simon Community during what are very troublesome times for the charity – donate here

“Social distancing measures to combat the spread of Coronavirus are challenging for most of us, but even more so for clients affected by homelessness: The fear of loneliness is a huge factor with homeless clients in general, even more so during this pandemic,” says Andrea Koenigstorfer, counselling co-ordinator at Dublin Simon Community.

“They already feel invisible at the best of times, empty streets, closed shops, restaurants and coffee shops, keeping a distance of at least two metres to others (others that potentially wear a mask!), not being able to go out and meet their family or friends, all this can turn into an even more increased sense of isolation and therefore have an impact on their mental health.”

Ruby Sessions at Home will broadcast live on Ruby Sessions Facebook and YouTube channels from 9pm tonight.

Soda Blonde: “We were delighted to play Ruby Sessions this week. We’ve been following it at home ourselves every Tuesday. It’s an amazing cause and a great way to inject a bit of sanity into our lives during these crazy, crazy times.”
