#MyBirthdayYourPresents – Goldenplec turns 11 years old

Last year Goldenplec turned the ripe old age of ten years old. A lengthy run we never thought would actually happen. We celebrated the big day by giving lots of our twitter followers presents. Yes we gave you presents on our birthday.

The reason we did this was two fold. We wanted to create a buzz online for Goldenplec’s birthday and put smiles on peoples faces. Last year having met a lot of the people who came to collect their presents in person, I feel we really did achieve this. We trended on Twitter for most of the day and we gave away a lot of cool presents. So this year as Goldenplec turns eleven years old we thought it was too good a feel good event to not try do again. So we’ve once again approached all our of PR, Promoter and band friends of the site and asked them if they had anything lying around the office so we could try spend the day putting smiles on faces. The response has been immense.

We have gig tickets to a range of shows from the likes of Sigur Ros, The Lumineers, Alkaline Trio, Laura Marling and loads more, CDs ranging from Alice In Chains, The Band Perry, The Great Gatsby Sountrack, Miles Kane, Tom Odell, Chic, Charlie XCX and loads (and we mean LOADS) more, vinyls from The Killers, Mumford and Sons, Kodaline, James Blake, Jake Bugg, Black Sabbath and more, PUMA suede runners, some Canadian beer and whiskey, we have a Nokia Lumia 920, a couple of 30 Seconds to Mars T-shirts and Wristbands and loads more we haven’t mentioned.

It’s going to be a busy day on Twitter (and some competitions will run on the website) on Thursday 1st August (our 11th birthday) and remember to keep an eye on #MyBirthdayYourPresent tag so you don’t miss anything and follow @goldenplec – But for now we wanted to thank the people that make our giveaways possible, not only for this event but through the year allowing us to send our lovely readers to so many great shows throughout the year. Remember all competitions are for residents of Ireland only. Due to the range of #MyBirthdayYourPresents we have had winners before from UK, Spain, Canadia, U.S. and Australia. As a small entity we cannot ship internationally so only people in Ireland can enter.
