The nominations for the inaugural Music Moves Europe Talent Awards were announced this week and one of the nominations, Boy Pablo, is playing Dublin next month.

The awards replace the European Border Breakers Awards, which previously celebrated success outside an act’s own country and had been a happy hunting ground for Irish acts in recent years, with both Soak and Walking On Cars taking home gongs.

The new formats sees awards being handed out across six categories: Pop; Rock; Electronic; R&B/Urban; Hip Hop/Rap, and Singer/Songwriter.

Ireland are represented by Cosha (FKA Bonzai) in the R&B/Urban category, with other notable names including Pale Waves (UK) and Iceland’s Reykjavíkurdætur – both of whom have played Dublin in recent times.

If you like what you hear, Boy Pablo plays The Button Factory on October 28th. Tickets €27.00.
