The Music From Ireland initiative which is part of the FMC (First Music Contact) have today announced in conjunction with Culture Ireland the 17 acts which are being supported to showcast at SXSW 2013.
The legendary festivals runs March 13th to 17th 2013 in Austin Texas and some of the strongest acts around Ireland have been selected to represent. This is one of the best opportunities around the world to get noticed by the right people. Each band is funded, showcased and promoted at each event to try build for further opportunities for the bands. The bands are chosen by SXSW and supported by the MFI.
MFI will also present ‘Full Irish Breakfast’ which is a day long showcase featuring 11 of the 17 showcase acts on Friday 15th March to an invited industry audience. Jim Carroll and Finian Murphy will also host the SXSW panel Constructive Disruption for the Music Industry on Tuesday 12th March.
