Meteor Choice Music PrizeWe’re swinging around that corner towards Christmas, which means the Meteor Choice Music Prize is starting to finalise the main details for this years event. The judges are all in place and under wraps until January 9th.

January 9th is the date that the shortlist for the Meteor Choice Music Prize ‘Irish Album of the Year’ will be revealed. This will leave us with 10 albums which the 10 judges and Tony Clayton-Lee will whittle down to a winner during the judges private debate on the night of the awards.

The live event will be held on Thursday 7th March 2013 in Vicar Street and will be broadcast live on the Paul McCloone show on Today FM in keeping with Meteors sponsorship of both the event and Paul’s great show.

This is the 8th annual album prize and the winning act will receive a cheque for €10,000. The shortlist for Irish song of the Year 2012 will be announced on 30th January with the public voting for their favourite song to decide the winner.
