Experimental punk artist Meryl Streek has announced a headline show in Whelan’s this November. The Dublin based producer emerged in 2022 quickly capturing imaginations with the help of just a microphone and laptop at his live shows. It wasn’t long before he was opening for punk legends Public Image Ltd.
Meryl Streek’s visceral debut album ‘796’ (2022) captured the imagination thanks to its sharp socio-political commentary. It’s follow-up ‘Songs For The Deceased’ arrives August 25th and finds Streek once again working with producer Dan Doherty (Fontaines D.C.) and features guest appearances from Kingsley Hall (Benefits), Cal Graham (The Chisel), Oliver Ackermann (A Place to Bury Strangers).
“This is a collection of stories about Betrayal, Murder, Injustice, and Corruption around my hometown of Dublin.” explains Meryl Streek. “It’s not just happening in Ireland, it’s happening around the world and we’re supposed to just take it lying down?”.
