If you haven’t noticed, we got the first scattering of snow this morning. For the sake of our Twitter timelines and possible travel implications for getting to gigs, here’s hoping it doesn’t get much worse.
This weeks Gig of the Week is a Virginian singer songwriter that goes by the name of Matthew E. White. Having recently signed to Domino, Mr White will be gracing Whelans with his melodic bluesy rock on Sunday night. His album ‘Big Inner’ was released today, to smashing reviews. Add in his whimsical charm and you have the makings of an incredible evening. Tickets are still available and are only €12.50.
Elsewhere, Paloma Faith is playing to a sold out Vicar Street this evening. No doubt those ticket holders will be treated to a wonderful evenings entertainment. The Workmans Club welcome New York’s one man band Hamell on Trial on Thursday. Tickets still available and are €19. If you’re heading to that stick around for the brilliant Phantom Anthems with our very own Claire Beck. Meanwhile Jim Jones Revue will be over in Whelans, with support coming from Sweet Jane. Tickets for that one are still available and are €15.
Saturday sees London based band Daughter in The Button Factory, which is sold out. You can still get your hands on tickets for Welsh rockers The Joy Formidable who will be in The Academy for the night. Tickets still available and are €15.
