Manchester-based poet, writer and producer Antony Szmierek is set to bring his debut album ‘Service Station at the End of the Universe’ to Dublin for a headline show in The Grand Social next April.

The album which arrives on Feb 26th via Mushroom Music/Virgin Music Group features the singles Rafters and new track The Great Pyramid of Stockport.

“Stockport Council abandoned plans for a Valley of the Kings themed shopping plaza, leaving only an empty pyramid behind. Nobody really knows what the pyramids in Giza are for. What we do know is that we’re not here long, and that the impossible is more possible than we think it is, motivationally speaking,” explains Antony Szmierek of the inspiration behind the track.

“That big blue pyramid serves as a reminder that human beings never really change – even if our pyramids are now by the side of motorways and full of office space.”

Antony Szmierek at The Grand Social, Dublin for Friday, 4th April 2025. Tickets €17.00 are available from singularartists.ie on Friday, 11th October at 10am.
