Local Boy is the alter-ego of Dublin musician, producer, singer, and Burner Records co-founder Jake Hurley. has shared a video for his new single Al Bundy the first glimpse of his forthcoming second EP.
Al Bundy sets up his second EP in typical Local Boy style with a barrage of acidic lyrics and funky guitar and bass – all the while referencing iconic 90s sitcom ‘Married with Children’.
“The song is primarily a critique of the often-toxic self-help culture found online that can treat mental health interventions like a business,” explains Local Boy. “The chorus focuses on how we can take comfort in the support of friends.”
Al Bundy landed on Spotify’s New Music Friday UK playlist this week, however Local Boy is no stranger to such playlists having amassed millions of streams across digital services via his solo work and collaborations with the likes of Tebi Rex.
