Lisa O’Neill and Sam Amidon are set to undertake the first of a series of live music performances at Dublin’s esteemed Gate Theatre which will commence this January.

While Irish songwriter Lisa O’Neill has built up a reputation as one of the leading lights in Irish folk across her five studio albums, including 2023’s acclaimed ‘All of This Is Chance’; American artist has a stellar reputation of his own. His new album ‘Salt River’ his first on Rough Trade imprint River Lea Records will arrive on 24th January 2025. Sam also recently starred in Michael Keegan-Dolan’s dance and theatre production Nobodaddy, which played as part of this year’s Dublin Theatre Festival.

Speaking about these special events, Leagues O’Toole of Foggy Notions said, “The Gate Theatre has played a huge role in our cultural lives for so long. Whether it’s captivating productions of Beckett or Pinter or vital new work from Philly McMahon, ANU, or Nancy Harris, the Gate Theatre is a stage that is always alive with a vital and relevant energy. So it’s a real privilege for us to curate a series of shows in January 2025, which will hopefully be the first of many.”

O’Neill will play shows on Wednesday 22nd & Thursday 23rd January, while Amidon will play Saturday 25th January to coincide with the release of his new album, Salt River.

Priority booking for Gate Theatre members starts at 2pm on Friday, 13th December. General ticket sales open at 10am on Monday, 16th December. Tickets for the Lisa O’Neill are priced at €36, and Sam Amidon €31. All ticket prices are inclusive of the Gate’s €1 Building Upkeep Levy and are exclude booking fees.
