The creative team behind one of Ireland’s most vibrant independent music festivals Féile na Gréine are set to screen their debut music documentary at this month’s Irish Film Festival London.

Out of Place, is a feature-length documentary which focuses on the musical community of Limerick and the struggle in building a thriving scene in a city that doesn’t always widely value the immense musical talent that is emerging on the banks of the Shannon.

The film was written, directed and edited by Graham Patterson who has this to say on the exciting news that the documentary was to feature at such a prestigious London film festival “I’m so excited to be sharing Out of Place alongside other amazing Irish films. Limerick has a strong culture of music and community, and I’m proud for it to be showcased to an international audience.”

The documentary brings together many of the talents behind Féile na Gréine, Hugh Heffernan and Jack Brolly co-write alongside Patterson, they also produced the film with Diarmuid O’Shea, whilst the original score is provided by Míchaél Keating, of Bleeding Heart Pigeons fame.

With appearances from the likes of MuRLi, His Father’s Voice, God Knows, Hey Rusty, Post Punk Podge & the Technohippies and Denis Chaila, amongst others this represents a fantastic opportunity to showcase the exciting Limerick music scene on the international stage.
