Laura Elizabeth Hughes has previewed her upcoming debut album with piano ballad ‘Casual,’ which sees Hughes reminiscing about the lightness of youth. ‘Casual’ follows the release of lead single ‘Another Side Of Conversation’ which arrived in April.

“Casual is about not taking for granted the closeness, freedom and lightness of youth – it’s airy but close, and inspired by the knotted up ties we create with our childhood places and people. I wanted a sonic air of very simple sun drenched nostalgia for a time when time seemingly stood still.”

The album is set to arrive next Spring and was partly funded by Agility Award from the Arts Council. And is Hughes’ first body of work since her debut EP We, Myself, I in 2021.
