Despite not releasing a studio album yet, breakout Irish indie-folk trio Kingfishr have already achieved a serious career landmark – that most bands can only dream of – with the release of their new live album ‘Live From Dublin’ which was recorded during their two sold out shows in the 3Olympia Theatre earlier this year.
“The 3Olympia Theatre was the venue we targeted from day one, it’s iconic in Ireland and for any Irish artist it’s the dream. Whether it took us 2 years or 20, we wanted to headline it and when that opportunity arose in little over a year it was hard to believe.
Those gigs were so important to us and we needed something to remember them, something we could look at and be proud of how far we had come. The idea to record them for a live album came from that sentiment, it’s a landmark moment in this journey we’re on and we’re really excited to be able to share that with everyone.”
The band’s rise since their debut single Flowers-Fire has been phenomenal, amassing over 30 million streams in just two years and selling out shows in the UK and Ireland and performing at festivals such as Glastonbury and supporting Snow Patrol in their hometown of Limerick.

The trio will perform at next month’s All Together Now festival before undertaking another UK and Ireland headline tour including a massive show in London’s Shepherd’s Bush. Tickets to all shows
Kingfishr’s live album follows the release of Hamsanwhich’s live album earlier this year- which was also recorded in the 3Olympia Theatre. It’s great to see Irish bands releasing live albums and it’s a trend we can certainly get behind.
