Hot on the heels of recent heater ‘Hold On’ with breakout producer SHEE, Kilkenny electro-pop hotshots 49th & Main are priming their biggest headline tour to date with breezy earworm ‘Can’t Walk Away’ featuring Radio 1’s Future Star, A Little Sound.

49th & Main (Paddy King and Ben O’Sullivan) have built a strong fanbase over the last 4 years thanks to their vulnerable lyrics and captivating electro sound with singles such as ‘Catching Eyes’ helping them amass over 100m streams on Spotify alone. Along the way the duo were selected for Spotify’s prestigious UK’s RADAR: First Listen program, which has previously featured artists like Pink Pantheress, Wet Leg, Joy Crookes and Griff. Their upbeat mix of breezy indie and electro attracted the interest of top UK Radio DJ’s Jack Saunders, and Chris Hawkins.

On paper the duo’s rise looks like it has been smooth sailing but behind the scenes the group have overcome their fair share of struggles. Last year, Ben O’Sullivan was diagnosed with aplastic anaemia, a rare blood disease which impacted his bone marrow function and left him chronically fatigued and prone to infections.

Now in full recovery, 49th & Main are set to undertake their biggest tour yet including an appearance at London’s 1500 capacity Outernet venue. The group sold out their debut shows in less than 24 hours, with the duo’s playful and eccentric live presence earning them widespread acclaim with fans travelling from as far as Australia for shows.

‘Can’t Walk Away’ features vocals from BBC Radio 1’s Dance Future Star Award Winner, A Little Sound. No stranger to collaborations, the rising star’s ethereal vocals have appeared on tracks with Bru-C, Hedex, Rudimental, Friction, Songer and earlier this year she was voted the Best Vocalist at the D&B Awards.

49th & Main have announced their biggest UK tour to date this November (details below) and will no doubt be eager to return to an Irish stage near you as soon as possible.
