Fresh from a very visible trip to Glastonbury where he took-over Spotify’s socials, Irish rapper KhakiKid is back on proper mic duties with new single ‘Bend’, the second glimpse into the next wave of material from Crumlin’s finest MC. ‘Bend’ sees Khaki (Abdu Huss) working alongside UK producer Tom Stafford (Master Peace, Jelani Blackman, Gretel Hanlyn) following successful sessions in London.
“Bend is about two people realising the difference between being partners or just two people beside each other. It’s about how difficult it is to move on and everything that goes through your head when you have to” explains KhakiKid.
“I made it with an incredible producer named Tom Stafford, between a few hours of waffling and playing each other music. It was definitely inspired by Matt Champion’s new project and a great producer named Henry kwapis.”
Last year’s single ‘Who’s That Girl’ saw Khakikid’s popularity jump exponentially, helping him to amass over 30 million catalogue streams and sell out a home-town show in The Academy, as well as attracting support from Radio 1’s Jack Saunders and appearances at prestigious festivals such as Other Voices. ‘Bend’ looks set to continue that upward trend at home and internationally.
