The Beast In Its Tracks, the new album from renowned Moscow, Idaho born singer-songwriter Josh Ritter, is lined up for an Irish release on March 1st through Yep Roc. The release is the most recent in the long-standing relationship Ritter has with Irish fans for whom he is a fixture in the nation’s venues. This is the sixth full-length recording from Ritter following on from 2010’s So Runs The World Away.
“In the year after my marriage ended, I realized that I had more new songs than I’d ever had at one time,” Ritter says of his new record. “Far from the grand, sweeping feel of the songs on So Runs the World Away, these new songs felt like rocks in the shoe, hard little nuggets of whatever they were, be it spite, remorse, or happiness.”
Ritter and his Royal City Band will celebrate the release of The Beast In Its Tracks with a North American tour set to kick off in Dallas on the 13th of March and he’s slated for a return to Ireland in July.
