Last night the festival launched in The Workmans Club in Dublin, with the first names down to play the festival revealed to those in attendance.

The festival  will take place in  Carroll’s Market Yard, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, Saturday 15 September and Sunday 16 September and we cna tell you that Mick Pyro (of Republic Of Loose), Lesie Dowdall (from In Tua Nua), Ultan Conlon and The Man Whom are the first acts confirmed for the festival.

Each artist will be joined by Johns long time band over the festival weekend to perform songs from decades of John’s career such as ‘May You Never’, ‘Over The Hill’, ‘I Don’t Wanna Know’ and more along with their own original material.

A limited amount of 1,500 tickets will go on sale this Friday 27th July on Ticketmaster.ie, and will also be available from Rollercoaster Records and The Book Centre in Kilkenny.

Festival organiser, Eva Lynch stated

“We are delighted to extend the festival to a 2 day event this year and very excited to be bringing so many new acts to Thomastown, where John spent the remaining years of his life. This is the first of a number of announcements we plan to make in the lead up to the festival”.
