It’s been a good week for Hozier and Jazzy. Hozier’s 2024 mega-hit ‘Too Sweet’ has become Hozier’s second single to be added to the elusive ‘Billions Club’ Playlist on Spotify just six months after the track was released. ‘Too Sweet’ became Hozier’s first ever Irish No.1 single on the officials singles chart. In the US, ‘Too Sweet’ hit the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with Hozier becoming the first Irish Artist in 34 years to reach the top spot in America since Sinead O’Connor.

‘Too Sweet’ joins Hozier’s breakthrough hit ‘Take Me To Church’ which has become the most streamed Irish song of all time since its release  with over 2 Billion streams and counting. The exclusive list that currently contains 763 songs also includes tracks from Niall Horan, U2, The Cranberries, Kodaline, and Snow Patrol. Hozier has also been nominated for Best Alternative’ and ‘Best UK & Ireland Act’ at the MTV EMAs in Manchester on Sunday 10th November.

Meanwhile, Crumlin hotshot Jazzy has become the most streamed Irish solo female act in the world right now overtaking the likes of Sinead O’Connor and Enya with 7.3million monthly listeners. The stat also means that the ‘Giving Me’ singer is now the 5th biggest Irish solo artist overall (after Hozier, Van Morrison, Niall Horan & Dermot Kennedy)

‘Giving Me’ made Jazzy the first Irish woman to top the charts in over 14 years, as well as earning a UK Top 3 hit and became the biggest UK debut single of 2023. Since the release of ‘Giving Me’  she has racked up over 300 million streams globally with six Top30 singles in Ireland and three Top40 singles in the UK. And with the release of her new single ‘No Bad Vibes’ with KILIMANJARO on 18th October, Jazzy will be hoping to close the gap even further on the boys club at the top of Irish music.
