James Vincent McMorrow has shared a video for Planes In The Sky, one of the standout tracks from his fifth album ‘Grapefruit Season’. The prolific songwriter is set to hit the road next year for a tour of Europe through February before returning home for two dates in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre and shows in Belfast and Limerick in April.

“I mean what can I say, I fucking love this song” – says James, when introducing ‘Planes In The Sky’. “The first day we worked on it we ended up just playing the drums bass and guitar parts over and over on a loop for about 2 hours. I guess some people would call it… jamming?? The easy part is coming up with a groove like this, the hard part is writing an actual song around it that does it justice and isn’t just aimless drifting alongside the track. It took me about a year to crack it, I think it all works in harmony, I hope it does to others. You can pay attention to the lyric and the chorus grabs you but it doesn’t get in the way of the groove. Lyrically it’s about what so many of the songs on the record are about, not missing moments.”
