James Vincent McMorrow has reimagined Maria Kelly’s ‘Eight Hours’, turning the delicate finger-picked track into an 80s tinged creature with lashings of synths. This rework of ‘Eight Hours’ is the final instalment of a series of alternative versions of tracks from her impressive debut album ‘the sum of the in-between’ which ha saw Kelly working with the likes of Paul Noonan, Sammy Copley, and Ciaran Lavery.

“When thinking about these alternative versions, I really wanted to explore a remix. I think James’ work is incredible, and I’ve admired his writing/production for a long time so I am pinching myself that he has actually agreed to do this! Hearing ‘eight hours’ in this disco-house universe he’s created is a lot of fun (well, a dancing-while-crying kind of fun) and I can’t wait for people to hear it,” Maria says of the single.

Now that the ‘Postcards In-between’ series is complete Maria Kelly has commenced work on recording her sophomore album, due for release in 2023.
