On this week’s round-up of the best new Irish music we present for your consideration the highly anticipated debut albums from Soda Blonde, Inhaler and Rejjie Snow plus the debut EP from Elkae.
Soda Blonde have delivered a sumptuous, cinematic debut ‘Small Talk’ which is comfortably one of the best Irish releases of the year so far. Inhaler’s debut ‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’ will leave plenty of begrudgers squirming because it’s a supremely well put together pop-rock record. Hip hop star Rejjie Snow makes a welcome return with his second album ‘Baw Baw Black sheep’ featuring the fabulous Cookie Chips feat. MF Doom, RIP. We’ll be surprised if these albums don’t appear in the Choice Music Prize shortlist.
