Welcome to this week’s round-up of new Irish music and what a week it is with brand new albums and EPs from Bitch Falcon, Jafaris, JC Stewart, Boyfrens, Seamus Fogarty and an extended version of Dermot Kennedy’s ‘Without Fear’ – listen to them all in full below.
This week’s cover stars are Wyvern Lingo who announced their new album ‘Awake We Lie’ this week and the semi Berlin based ladies from Bray also shared new single ‘Rapture’, James Vincent McMorrow continues his impressive run in 2020 with ‘Gone’ his next album is shaping up to be something truly special.
Declan O’Rourke continues to preview his Paul Weller produced album with ‘Any Sells Coke’, while Rosie Carney continues to drip-feed her Radiohead covers album with ‘Black star’. If you’re vibing off of Wyvern Lingo’s Rapture we’d recommend you check out the new songs from Siights, Chanele McGuinness, Stephanie Rainey, Carrie Baxter and Rachel Grace.
Jafaris may lead the way with his new EP ‘I Love You But I’m In A Bad Mood’ but theirs plenty of hip hop from the 4 corners of Ireland courtesy of Active, Shafto, Emzee A, Gavin DaVinci, Jordan and Adetunji, Gaptoof, and R’N’B leaning tracks and remixes from Kayleigh Noble, Pop Wallace, chxmist and Toygirl, 1000 Beasts and Elaine Malone and Trophy Husband.
The big moment of the week is undoubtedly Bitch Falcon’s long-awaited debut album ‘Staring at Clocks’ which for my money is the Irish rock record of 2020. If you enjoy that you may also enjoy the new arrivals from everything Shook, The Clockworks, Crome Yellow, Battle Skies, Ghost Office and Stephen Roddy.
If JC Stewart’s new EP ‘When The Light Hits The Room’ is more your speed then check out the new songs from Somebody’s Child, Patrick, Blondmodel, Columbia Mills, Owen Rua U.M.A.N.
All this plus tracks from Toucan, Arcwords, Lloyd John, and ‘Anyway’ a collaboration between Arvo Party and Hex Hue.
If you want to send us your music please fill in the form here. Until next week stay safe wear a mask and ring you mates cause it’s getting hard out there x
